Okay, i've been skimming this argument for a while, because you guys seem to be picking at nits, but I read this post fully, and this passage jumped out at me. From the outset, I'll tell you that I think you're utterly wrong; that whatever story Bungie had developed prior to 1999 was tossed out when Nathan melted down, and that even though they've picked a few choice morsels from the Cortana Letters, for the most part they're simply evidence of a road abandoned. That said: your use of the word 'clearly' bemuses me. Can you show me where either of these ideas is expressed, unequivocally, in the Cortana Letters? I've just reread all five of them (plus the hidden one from the Myth CD), and I simply can't see where you're getting this from. Thanks.
