In Response To: Earth and Taking/Breaking Prisoners (DuckofDoom) Heres my guess. Since the Prohpets believe every human needs to die, they didnt even bother capturing humans, just killing every one they see. Except a select few, like Captain Keyes, but I dont think they even got any information out of him. Plus activating Halo and starting their Great Journey Is probably number 1 on their priority list and killing humans is number 2. If youve heard the Prophet of Mercy, "Though the annihalition of the human race filled us with satisfaction, the loss of one of the Sacred rings wracked our hearts with grief." Basically whats he is saying is "The Sacred Halo is more important than killing humans." c But I think Trutth had it different. Truth probablt doesnt care about activating the rings, as long as the humans and Elites are all dead. He's just using this activate the rings campaign as a front to start a civil war in the Covenant. Thats probably why he withdrew his Phantoms after Regret was killed. To give a reason to hand over the position of Protector of the Prophets to the Brutes. And he used the Arbiter to grab the index then started the civil war. In a way, Master Chief is his best soldier. Killing so many elites. Thats my theory, take it or leave it.
