Torture is used to extract information quickly... its accuracy is debatable. Modern interrogation techniques use multiple questions given in different manners and contexts in order to catch inconsistancies, and a modern interrogation after torture often finds that confessions made under torture are inaccurate and designed more to meet what the torture victim thinks his tormentors want to hear than to tell the truth. -- Steve makes no bones about it; if he's ever subjected to torture he'll just blurt out whatever comes to mind that's most likely to make them stop with the fingernail-pulling RIGHT NOW. |
