As someone who has been pouring over this story for the last several weeks, let me reiterate: it gets a lot more uncertain towards the end.

The latter route does not throw everything into question. It doesn't make things messy, it actually cleans up some of the messiness in Infinity's story. I am not viewing things that are "slightly" ambiguous as non-diegetic. I am simply analyzing the Text of the game.

As I already stated. S'pht-Durandal shows no signs of understanding or being able to mess around with time travel. Even in the end game splash screen, if it is S'pht Durandal narrating, shows that they do not fully understand the nature of the main character nor the narrative of the story taking place until the last moments of the universe. By your own logic, You can't just excuse every bit of ambiguity as "time travel" just because time travel is a component of the story.

I didn't say it was. And we never get the main character's narrative voice in the entire game. The main character does not narrate anything.
