Yes one can definitely be certain. Polygons are calculated by the geometry of the mesh. Not the bump map. If your mesh has say 60 polygons and you slap a very extreme bump map on it, it will still only be 60 polygons. Of course rendering speed will take a major hit because it will take more processing time to deal with the increased shadows due to the texture. : Personally, I want to see the effect of bumpmapping with a 3D revelator. I posted about this a little higher on the board. You won't see much more with 3D glasses. -Spu |
