The way a game plays is much more : important to this medium than visuals are. Don't get me wrong, visuals are : still important, but your example just doesn't apply here. Star Trek and : Star Wars are based in the visual medium- there isn't that extra level of : depth to it that makes the experience wholly different. They're messing with that too though-- Flood replacing Infection, the "flagnum", taking out Invasion and Firefight, putting in what appears to be infinite sprint,* all these armor mods and support packages or whatever they're called... it keeps going. They're changing up the audio too (and the story is going differently but it kind of has to). Even ignoring all that, visuals play a very large part in how a video game plays, and if you dislike a game's visuals you probably won't be able to stand playing it for long. * I've been meaning to ask about that, didn't they say before it would be limited? I think there were signs of that earlier but there haven't been any recently
