Kinda long reply (with Covenant speech sidetrack)

As I said, I really enjoyed them and felt like they added depth to the story. I completely agree with you that they shatter immersion though. You hit the nail on the head with that one. I've just finished a replay of ODST on Heroic with Emmy and she's very interested in the terminals and going to find them all. Now, we've played through the entire series and I've shown her terminals in each game thus far and she has never expressed as much interest in finding them as with Sadie's Story. I've also just finished watching the Halo 4 Terminal and was utterly disappointed. It did appeal to me because it was very similar to the Halo CEA terminals but that's also why it was disappointing. It's looks like they just did the same thing again. For a game that has so much changed just for the sake of change, this was one of those things that should have been different and unique. Instead, it's just a cookie cut of the CEA terminals. I am seriously pissy about the Covenant speaking Gibberishese. I don't mean to side-track, but the canon behind Covenant speech was that our armor had translation software. It's been mentioned in several books and has been the accepted reason for the sudden ability to understand Sangheli, etc. in Halo 2 when we receive the Mark VI. Now we've got an even more(unexplained and ugly) suit of armor that suddenly lost all translation software? Did Cortana look at it and go "Yeah... that was useful. Let's rip it out and slap on some new shoulder pads!" Rabble rabble rabble...
