In Response To: Bulletin! (10.17.12) (INSANEdrive) Interesting how the Chief has gotten progressively less green as time has gone on. He's practically brown now. Kinda bugs me. "Each iteration of our favorite Spartan super-soldier has been distinctive yet similar..." except for ours for some unknown inexplicable reason. "...but don’t confuse design with canon..." or continuity apparently. "...the Chief is the Chief, just with the details and idiosyncrasies based on what each time period and toolset has to offer." So now you'd have me believe the Chief has no canon appearance, just a vague shape filled in with whatever details the art director decides to dump on it using whatever new tools they have to play with. At least Bungie had the courtesy to give me a reason when they decided to dramatically change the armor. Anything after that was fiddling with the fine details. On the brighter side, I don't cringe every time I see that armor now. Actually I don't have any reaction to it at all. I think my brain has just decided to ignore it every time it's presented. The only thing that set me off this time was their quip about each iteration being "distinctive yet similar" when theirs clearly bares little to no resemblance to anything before it.
