(Title is a Borderlands 2 joke) This isn't a high horse, it is pure exasperation. The only high horse talk is people who somehow immediately know based purely off of aesthetic design whether or not a game will be good :P Listen, I don't care whether or not you like the game. So far, I like it and that is the most important thing to me. I want you to like it, but I won't lose any sleep if you miss out on a great experience because you don't like what Jackals look like now. It is the constant complaining though that is driving me up a wall. It's tough to complain about a game that you have never played before. I will however agree with you somewhat about gameplay not being as huge of a factor (For me at least.) For me personally Story is by far the most important element. Is it an engaging, emotional story that has me connected with the characters. Do I care about these people, does what affects them affect me the same way? Halo 3 excelled at that. I concede here that I have not played the singe player. From what I have seen the story is shaping up quite nicely (I'm not talking spoilers, but official statements and the books). We finally have something that Halo has never really had: An Antagonist. Not necessarily a villain but someone that stands in the way of our goals and is an equal (perhaps even a superior in terms of abilities.) That is what has me most excited about the game. The story is being pushed farther than Bungie ever did. Its rather excellent gameplay is definitely a strong factor in enjoyment (Perhaps number 2?) but not top priority for me (I love MP but single player is the most important part after all). Godzilla Jackals, Chief's Armor or cave troll grunts are the least of my concerns. It does nothing to harm the story/plot/narrative, it is merely and Aesthetic and nothing more.
