On paper, it looks like a natural way to expand the IP: one of the best RTS developers in history takes a strong franchise whose original form was an RTS and tries to do for that genre what Bungie did for FPS with the same franchise. The idea was solid, the execution is open to interpretation, but the bottom line is it didn't sell on par with what they were hoping for.
