This is the only part I agree with. Your other complaints are certainly valid (IMO, all complaints are worth listening to), and I can see how for some people the new HUD might be too cluttered and distracting or whatnot, and you certainly should have an option to disable all non-essential HUD elements, but personally, I like the new HUD overall, and my only issues are what you outline in section 12 of your post. Knowing how much health one has is essential, need-to-know information. The lack of a health bar is my biggest annoyance with the Halo 2 & 3 HUDs (well, that and the H2 HUD sucks overall), as you never know how many shots away from death you are once your shields down. Can you afford to take a few hits, or will a tiny scratch be your undoing? You never know.
