I've never ran into any of those problems. Not once actually. I don't see the point to it. If people are playing CTF JUST to rack up points to unlock more collectables, then they are playing the game wrong period. Whatever happened to just having fun? I had a bigger problem with people team killing me to cap the flag. Objective might be the least played, but so what? I still play it and I like to play it rather than play free-for-all or a game based around just killing things. People have gotten so gung-ho about killing things in games they don't want they don't like team efforts. Which is sad. I really don't blame the game type, I blame the gamers. I am always going after the flag if I have the chance. If I don't have a sniper or good weapon that is too precious to lose. Then I go for it. If you want, there is a simple solution. Make caping the flag worth the most points. Then people will be fighting over the flag than fighting for the the kills. That will also rank up for objective games being played. I have never been in a game where people spent more time killing than they did going for the flag. Speaking of which, let me ask this. How many variants of a gametype do you really expect where the only objective is to kill the other player? Can you come up with 9 different playlists that are fun and revolve around just killing? I can't. I can't even come up with 5.
