In Response To: I'd buy a Halo Wars II. (Leviathan) : When Halo Wars was first announced, I was excited. As time went on, the fact : that it was the first Halo game without Bungie involved really started to : scare me. I worried about the tone, the style (still displeased about : UNSC=green, Covenant=pink colorization), and if it would stay canon. : And when it did come out, I think a lot of people here judged it with the

I don't think I've ever asked myself that question. It is a good question.
I want Halo RTS. I want it deeply, more than Halo 4. But I think the two problems I have with Halo Wars 2 is that it would be a continuation of the original, and that it would suffer from the same limitations as the original. I'm afraid that the same broken design philosophies will carry over (You can't have an RTS without Melee units, it's not a full Halo game without the Flood, the UNSC can't do #$*% without the Spartans to hold their hands). I'm afraid that we'd get the same William C. Dietz level of storywriting. I'm also afraid that the same shallow gameplay would carry over because of the limitations Halo Wars had on it. Look at the information up there. We had buildable defenses, artillery as a class of units/power, and non-socketed bases. They didn't cut that stuff out because they lost a coinflip. Quite likely, the lost gameplay elements had to go because it didn't work with the control scheme ES had set up. So, if a future Halo RTS is announced, I guess my reaction would depend on whether it was PC-exclusive, and whether former ES employees were working on it. /trust issues.
