A game I would like...

Did you ever play Ground Control? It was a real time tactical instead of a RTS. You had limited number of units and reinforcements and there was no base building or economy. The two factions in it are very similar to the UNSC and Covenant. One side had tanks and vehicles that looked like UNSC vehicles, and even had suped up armored infantry. The other side had hovering tanks that fired plasma weapons and were religiously motivated. The single player focused on the two sides fighting over ancient technology from a mysterious alien race (sound familiar?).

The cool thing with it was that the camera could fly anywhere. You could fly way up over the battlefield (some of which were huge), or you could fly down to eye level with your infantry. You only saw enemy units that were within line of sight of your units. Units that held high ground got a bonus over units below them. Tanks were armored better in front than in back, which gave incentives for flanking the enemy. Infantry got stealth bonuses and could sneak through trees and bushes to set up ambushes. It was really fun.

If you google it, it's been put online for free by the publisher.

Anyway, I would love to see a Halo strategy game like that. Something that's all about the fighting and doesn't have much to do with base building, tech trees, or economy.
