I'd buy a Halo Wars II. | |

In Response To: Forgotten Halo Wars Powers, Abilities, etc (kornman00) When Halo Wars was first announced, I was excited. As time went on, the fact that it was the first Halo game without Bungie involved really started to scare me. I worried about the tone, the style (still displeased about UNSC=green, Covenant=pink colorization), and if it would stay canon. And when it did come out, I think a lot of people here judged it with the same criteria that they would a standard Halo game. Because I did that too. :) I ended up buying it when it was reduced in price, and while I didn't love it like a Bungie Halo, it was a solid game and I still enjoy a single-player skirmish now and then. I find it very relaxing for some reason. While it fudged a few boundaries of the canon, it found a way to remain within it. The characters were simple, but the cinematics were beautiful. The designs for the new vehicles were pretty sweet and felt UNSC-y. So much that I was actually hoping to see some of them implemented into Reach, perhaps just in the background. Looking back, I now view it as an entry in the Expanded Universe, and compared to the rest to the EU, I think it's a very solid and fun entry. I'd like to see a Halo Wars II continue the story of Spirit of Fire and do an even better job at the tone, style, canonicity, characters, and of course, gameplay. So even if you think the first is flawed, wouldn't you be open to a sequel that appeared to be improving on all fronts? I think the core idea, a Halo RTS, is still a very cool thing.
