In Response To: An open discussion about petetheduck (pete_the_duck) You guys have all brought up some good points, and I thank you sincerely for sharing them. I'm taking your comments absolutely serious. Since Louis Wu fontpaged this, I wanted to throw a few more details into the mix: One of the reasons this particular option is so appealing is that my wife is actually the breadwinner in our home. Not enough to support both of us on her own, but her career does provide some stability for us. The other consideration is that we've been able to avoid the cost of childcare up until now, which is pretty significant on it's own. I seriously doubt that we'll be able to avoid it going forward, unless I'm able to get some sort of similarly-flexible work. Is this exact plan I gave sustainable for the long-term? I don't think so, but I guess the idea is that it would be that it would be a foundation to grow from.
