In Response To: An open discussion about petetheduck (pete_the_duck) On a career level, its a pretty bad idea. People might be willing to throw money at you, but what happens in two years when your not into Halo anymore? Or Halo radically changes? Or people stop throwing money at you? Would be real hard to pick yourself up and recover if your 'work' for the last two years is nothing more than fan made Halo content. Thats going to be tough to explain in job interviews. Thats the boring real life look at things. Thats pretty situational though and may not even be something you need to worry about. I would argue, that with all the people willing to produce Halo content for free, how would you elevate the stuff you do? There are some pretty talented people like Levi out there who would be doing what your doing, without a salary. It would be hard to justify the money if the content isn't brilliant.
