I am certainly no fan of T-Squared or his ability to convey his opinion. I kind of agree with him in general.

This is just my personal opinion.

I would love to have something that finds a way to bridge the gap between rank for time spent and rank for ability/skill.

In Halo 2 for example when I wanted competitive games I played anything that was ranked to to to chase that ever elusive level 50 mark and I really enjoyed the challenge of competitive play. I also enjoyed the risk of putting my "e belt" on the line. Yes I do know that it doesn't mean everything but I do take pride in a rank I feel like I earn through competition.

By the same token when I just wanted to play to have fun and spend time with friends we hopped into team training that was unranked. It would be nice if there was an option like that where you could play without a competitive rank but still earn some kind of cR equivalent to progress.

I am not sure if having a 1-50 and Recruit-Inheritor system running side by side is the solution. But, I for one, would like my cake and the ability to eat it too. ;)
