As a tired example I keep going back to...the Autumn could have had a visual overhaul that stayed true to its original look, but in Reach we get a new redesign that has a different apparent length and an easy to see different width than the original. I would use my argument to explain the Chief's gauntlets from Halo 2 to 3. Unless it was the same designer that made the change, (in which case I'd like an in-game explanation as to why that occurred outside of any Mjolnir-outfitting facility on the Dreadnought). One thing that has had several iterations now, but has stayed faithful to the original is the design of the basic ODST helmet. Kudos for keeping that design mostly intact!
