Indeed, Kelly's Mark V on the cover of GoO looked great because there were subtle graphical additions made to it's apperance. You had to notice them pretty specifically, but it really made it stand out over the Mark VI and the SPI Mk.II.

Plus the Mark V helmet is just awesome (used it throughout Halo 3 multiplayer).
