In Response To: Not the glorification that's the problem for me (SPU7N1K) : Ignoring the deeper-than-game discussion going on above, I feel the deaths of : the Spartans were pretty unspartan-like. Spartans, to me, were usually : defying the odds, getting so close to death but escaping it most of the : time. Kat's, Carter's, Emile's and most of all, Noble Six were pretty un : epic. I mean, couldn't he find somewhere to hide, instead of standing tall : in front of all the Covies, waiting to be attacked? : The only one whom 'deserved' martyrdom to me was Jorge. Look at his death-
Emile managed to take down that elite despite being severed by an energy blade at the time. I'd call that defying the odds. Carter, you would think he could have jumped at the last second or something. Scarabs aren't that agile, surely he had a few seconds after the pelican's trajectory was set? On the other hand, we can't tell how badly injured he is, it may be that he's immobilized at that point. Kat's death I found a little disappointing, in that it looked like one needle took her down. That shouldn't have even penetrated her shield. Jorge FTW. Noble 6, I somewhat agree that he probably could have found something else to do. But at the same time, I liked the way that situation was presented. And it's notable that we never actually see a confirmed death blow. ;) Though I accept that he is most likely actually dead, since the impact of the ending really depends on that.
