In Response To: Re: He JUST asked for refinements! (Hawaiian Pig) At least in H3 they made the game fun again. That's why I liked H3 a lot more than H2, because it's just a lot more fun to play. I'm not speaking about online play here, btw. The story in H2 is by far the best, but the gameplay was just terrible. Bungie definitely found new ways to make things more interesting. At the same time, the use of invisible barriers became freaking ridiculous (though breaking out of them wasn't very difficult). I'm not sure if that can be called refinement or improvement, but whatever. As for online play, I think H2's matchmaking system was superior in a lot of ways to H3 (mostly because the 360 dashboard is inconvenient and sucks, and Reach will clearly be fixing this). But add in what Bungie did to the melees, what Bungie's host system has done for latency issues (in matchmaking, not so much in customs), I think H3 was a step backward. Sure, there's less standbying and modding and all that, but host only played a small part in that.
