In Response To: Off the top of my head... (rolandk73) A laundry list of sandbox elements doesn't denote innovation... it doesn't even denote refinements to elements of gameplay. A refinement would be modifying horde with a set wave and round system, not changing the AR to operate in mid-range. Halo 2 matchmaking was innovation (or at least the first example that I can think of, where a matchmaking system "got it right"). Cody's right, Halo 3 and ODST refined things that already existed, they didn't break the mould on anything. That's all good and well, whats wrong with that? Why are you taking such offense to this concept? "Oh no! Bungie aren't innovators! They're not the stalwart paragons of bleeding edge entertainment production I had made them up to be in my head, oh no!" Bungie makes triple A titles; they pretty much can't make anything that isn't "refined," and the innovation department is on an indefinite hiatus as a risky business venture. cash money yo
