(Harmanimus) : I think what he meant to imply was that while progression is linear, you : don't feel as pressed into a single method to pass through each area. It seemed completely out of place for rolandk73 to bring that up--first he criticized Bungie for not addressing linearity in Reach (the game as a whole) based on the very first level, then he starts praising a linear encounter for having a sense of variety that, to me, does not appear to be lacking from Reach. I lost patience trying to follow his arguement because, to me, it was scattered at best and self-contradictory at worst. I don't know what he's trying to say, because to me the appearance of the first level of Reach and the Pillar of Autumn do not appear different--yet to him, somehow they are. I'm putting my hands in the air and walking away from this one.. perhaps I should have done that earlier.
