But John received : Cortana in 2552 after she was developed specifically to work with a : Spartan and alongside Project Mjolnir, and this was after Halsey : specifically erased parts of her memory to lengthen her life expectancy. : Some people may say that she was forced into an early rampancy by the : Gravemind... or that all the other stresses from all of the information : she had absorbed over that year decreased her lifespan greatly... but : keeping it simple, by the end of Halo 3 she has only lived one out of : those seven years. : So does this mean that they were drifting for that long? She was already in service when John received her. She was nearing the end of her life even at the beginning of Halo 1.
