From what I understand, rather than change pace, IW stuck with their winning formula from Call of Duty 4, and just tweaked and perfected it. Kinda like the jump from Halo 2 to Halo 3 we hear so much of. Hmmmmm

See, what I don't understand is, most of your mainstream gaming journalists absolutely raved about Halo 3 while they were getting their behind the scenes peeks at the game, and that followed through with their fairly high reviews of the game. But now, 2 years after the game has come out, people are beginning to slam it for "unoriginality" TWO YEARS LATER! Of course its unoriginal Now, its been out for two years and people are getting used to the feel of the game. Two years later, rather than the three Bungie typically spends between major releases (not that ODST isn't Major or anything) Infinity Ward releases yet another sequel to their Call of Duty franchise. And while its a great game, people are treating it like the second coming of Christ. Why? Because the first one was good. And this one is much the same, just certain aspects added to it. The ice climbing scene you go on about? Call of Duty has had those moments since 2, this is now the sixth title in the franchise.

And many people fail to realize, that if Bungie spent their usual three year development cycle for Halo 3, that would mean that they started working on the game about the same time they got their Dev Units for the 360. Taking that into account, and only having the Dev Units for a few months before starting development, of course they aren't going to be pushing the limits of the 360 to their max. They have to figure things out and work with it to the best of their abilities. Which they did, they made a Damn Fine game, made it work, play, and feel good to the player, and perfected what the did right in Halo 2, and fixed the wrong.

Now fast forward two years later, Reach has been in development for about the same time, Bungie employees have 3-4 years experience working with the Xbox 360, they have a much larger team, doesn't something start to click in your brain just from what little is in this paragraph? And rather than just update the Halo 3 Engine like they could have (and did, quite well I might add, with ODST) They take the time and develop a brand new engine for Reach, because people like you complain, ITS NOT PHOTO-REALISTIC, CALL OF DUTY LOOKZ REAL GOODZ, WAI CAN'T HALO LOOK LIKE DAT?!?!?! God forbid a VIDEO GAME have color. Fucking crime to humanity.

So lets some some things up here shall we? Bungie spends three years developing their major titles. Infinity Ward, spends two. Bungie Creates brand new engines for their major titles. Others perfect the one they already made. Bungie perfects shit from their past games, others do to. But somehow Bungie is in the wrong for this. Bungie and its employees don't put the shit that You want in Their game, so you get pissed and throw a tissy, and claim they don't do anything. The fact of the matter is, the quality that Bungie puts into its games, which is quite alot mind you, is completely lost because 2 years later, a game company puts out another game that supposedly "INNOVATES THE GENRE!!!!!!!"

This day and age, at this point in the current gens life cycle, we are well beyond full innovation. The most innovation you can get now, is what you do with the genre and how you make it play out. You know nothing of Reach, yet you judge anyway.

Thats not a hardcore fan, thats a fucking bandwagon fan if I ever saw one. Go cry to IW and get shot through a fucking brick, this was just plain sad.
