I'm really blown away by how many people on this forum hold this view of anime. What "high end" anime have you seen? How many shows or films do you consider to be plenty and what were some of them?

I'm not trying to argue against personal preference, I'm simply looking for perspective; I just can't understand some of the criticisms I've seen here lately. As presumptuous as it is, I'm forced to believe that you haven't seen as much of anime's variety as you think you have. I can understand saying that shows like Pokemon or Dragonball or even FullMetal Alchemist or Death Note have an 'aura of cheapness' to them, but those don't come close to representing all the forms that anime takes on.

I'd really like to see an example of another 'high quality animation' that avoids the 'animeness' which irks you; I can't imagine any higher quality animation than Cowboy Bebop or Akira.

Of course all of this has very little to do with how good Halo: Legends will be, just whether or not it should be written off simply because it's anime.
