In Response To: Long Post..OUCH!!! (Steve Campbell) I see your point. Sometimes there are those who argue in favor for a game with logic though. I happen to be one of them. I, myself, am more of an id follower. I think our two dieties are closely related but came from opposite ends of the heavens (or in id's case, perhaps hell :). I am not a huge Marathon fan or Myth fan. I don't think I've ever played Myth in fact, can't seem to remember. Why am I so sure this game will be one of the greatest ever? Well I have yet to meet a person on this forum or anywhere else to convince me otherwise. Usually their arguements against the game bring up aspects that I think make the game better. I haven't been this excited about a game since Doom, and we all know that Doom was the FPS that started the shockwave. From all I've gathered about Halo and the people involved with it, I can almost smell the gameplay goodness. Who knows, I could be wrong. Halo COULD flop. Then again... Bill Gates COULD start a tree service. : WoW : Someone go get that little boy to put his finger back in the hole because : what just flooded out this week in the way of posts have gotten out of : control and I can't even seem to find my mom to make it stop!!!! : okay , okay! : When you drag this "old man" (me), out to make a post , you know : things have gotten bad. : I will only make one point here. I wont refute or agree or even deny what has : been said on this board. In a way, (biting my tongue), they are all : correct. : Here is the story as I see it! : Bungie started by making games for Mac's. Mac users were few back then and to : us, Bungie became our god! They made games for US! Notice the "US : ", personal touch there. : Making it short here..they made Pathways Into Darkness. Wow..Mac Users had a : game just for US! (PC Users had many..so of course we praised those who : catered to "US") : They made Marathon. By this time we became true believers. We were : supporters, flag waivers and protectors to t he god that called himself : Bungie! : Again , skipping to make it short here. : HyperArchive Northwest and Story Page pops up and now we have a true : Religion. : We have the God -- Bungie; : We have the text for it -- Story Page : and for those that needed extra and special attention... : We have the Revival lectures-- The HyperArchive Northwest : Pardon the analogy here, but, you see Mac users had someone catering just for : them So, hopefully we can begin to see that there is a : "Loyality" here that can best be compared to a Religion : Moving on.... : More Marathon Games....then some Myth games (those of which I still own are : stil in shrink wrap), some of these were games for PC people. : etc.etc.etc.. THEN THE BIG BLAMMMM HAPPENS! : Bungie with no DOUG ZARTMAN--- "ON NO!!" : Bungie at Redman under that Wierd Colored Flag -- OH NO!! : Some leave the "fold" but most of us.,, still hold onto to the : religion that brought us glory all these years. : Now we come to Halo, and you know what? It just doesn't matter. : 1st Person, 3rd Person, tanks...jeeps..wind..water...birds..trees...guns : ..rockets....etc.etc.. : It doesn't really matter. : See..those that post here that just dont' seem to get it , still don't : understand that they are talking to a bunch of people that are going to : support the religion Bungie to the day they stop making games. : It's not that some idea's aren't right as they are posted here. It' s not : that third person, first person shooter..etc..isn't good or bad, It' s : that we have been with the backbone of Bungie since the beginning and in : no way is anyone going to get away with posting a negative comment that is : unfounded. : No offense and no harm intended..but when it comes to Bungie..you are going : to run into this just about everywhere. Heck, look at me. I am 40 years : old and I was part of the group that originally started Bungie Org. I own : the Bungie Org Hotline Server, but I allow the younger sect to run it and : control it. My way of paying respect to that which I will ever be grateful : for. : Look at Claude and Hamish.....all of us are the same age and we continue to : do this to this day. : So, maybe the air is a bit more cleared now. Yes, .most of the posts of : Bungie supporters are correct with their fact postings here, but, more : then that....it's what I just scriptured out. : Bungie is writing the story! GREAT : Bungie is making the game! GREAT : Bungie is still making the game for the Mac GREAT!!! : Nuff Said.. : Sorry for the long rant... : --steve
