Since I wasn't there I'm not sure I'd agree with you about the controls, but since I'm a little skeptic about console controls in a FPS (as much as the next guy anyway...) I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. With that all said and done, I hope they follow thru with what one of them said: that they'd allow the user to map the controls (plus the vehicle moving with the camera I hope does change... but since I'm sure I'll enjoy this a lot more on the PC anyway (keyboard + mouse) I don't mind as much as someone who will only be buying one or the other (although I'm still thinking of just maybe getting the Xbox, I probably will, especially if there is a decent amount of time between that and PC release (months))).
