A lot of people have said this, and I have to strongly disagree. In The Flood, you got a glimpse att he interior of the Covenant social structure, but did you get it through the eyes of the Chief? No. You saw it through the eyes of the Grunts, Elites, Jackals, and Hunters who interacted and fought against humans. There's simply no way to gain a full appreciation for something outside your normal perspective unless you experience it first-hand. You would never get as complete a look into the Covenant's social structure or beliefs from the eyes of a human as you would from the eyes of an Elite. : Being forced to play as a Covenant was a serious downer for me and thousands
Boo-hoo for you. You didn't like something and were disappinted that you didn't play as the near-silent, almost characterless (in-game) Master Chief as opposed to a character who actually grew, developed, and had radical changes in perspective over the course of the game. You must feel so cheated that you had to play someone who is, ironically, more human than the human hero. | |
