Automatic, but not instantaneous?

Either that, or the update doesn't actually detect modified content, but rather statistical anomalies that suggest modified content, so rather than being able to compare a local and remote map and ban instantly upon detection, the system builds up a series of data points that cross a ban threshold at a certain point where the likelihood that content has been modified moves beyond any reasonable doubt.
