Letter #5 and a bit of Letter #1's ending

I always thought that when Cortana wondered what "he saw in you" she meant what the MASTER CHIEF saw in HUMANITY. We know that MC didn't really have much a human childhood, and it's like he's not quite human like the rest of us. After all, he went through hell in Halo and Halo 2 always in combat, putting it on the line for us so he obviously saw something in humans worth saving.

Also in Letter #1 when you talk about the way the world ends, I could speculate it means that the world is destroyed to keep the Halos from firing. If the Halos are on standby and can only be fired from the Ark, if there is no more Ark, the Halos can't be fired. That could be a way for the world/Earth to end and would in fact be ironic considering the ammount of effort that has gone into saving Earth.
