I don't know much about the programming of Myth (or programming in general for that matter) but I'm pretty sure that PC's and Mac's require some different programming, you can't just take the PC version and install it on the Mac, it just doesn't work like that. (Note that there is a Linux version for sale alongside the Windows version, not just a Windows one to install on everything).
