The few moments prior, the game just exhibits the effects of severe "lag". If the host comes out of standby quickly (usually done in slayer and head to head because the kill is fast) then no blue screen presents itself. The blue screen is more common in objecftive based matches because they have to take the time to grab a flag or bomb and walk it somewhere.
