In Response To: Re: Learning to Love Hangar Bay #2 (Sep7imus [subnova]) I used a different tactic here. After getting fried for 4 hours straight, I discovered a lucky way to get through this bay. Like in the beginning of all vids, pop those grunts 1st with the BR and then lob a Plasma grenade ever so accuratly onto an elite by the boarding craft. While throwing, rush up and toss a second grenade on them, a frag and take up your position behind the large crate that is just under the catwalk. Let your sheilds charge and then pop around and fire at whatever your Marines are lighting up. Watch your radar closly, if an Elite tries to get behind you, I carried a plasma sword from the last bay that I used to unseam him with. If you need to fall back to someplace more user freindly, strafe to your right and rest by the panel under the catwalk. Face towards the crate you were at b/c no Elites come from the other direction. When you run low, retreat and grab more grenades from the last bay (I had 10 plasmas I kept coming back to in there :-D ), or the Battle rifle and Frags under the stairwell. If you need to b/c of the dual weilders, fall back to the 1st green crate by the door and take pot shots at the Sword elite, you'll draw hit off with a steady stream of fire, then deal with ihm while he's alone. Sevral times, I've found myself useing the PP/BR combo near the end of the fight but not often. Usually I had great luck and had a Plasma grenade set off a huge chain that took out 3 or 4 elites. My problem was always dying when I tried to rush up between waves and collect fresh weapons or grenades. Any other weapon in the game would've made this bay easier, a RL, Needler, Beam Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Brute Shot... I guess Bungie wanted you to really think tactical on this one. Congrats on the 3rd vid, I'll try that! |
