: Sep7, I can't view the videos, but without referencing mike miller's stuff, I
: can tell you right now trying that trick if you're stuck on the last wave
: of Covies is suicide. The three dual-plasma rifle elites' level of
: awareness is so high, taking the time to set up for the jump onto the box
: will often leave you fried (in less than a second, damnit!) by them. As a
: stand-alone tactic in the beginning, I wouldn't reccomend it either, as
: your marines will probably be cut down by the timne you get downstairs and
: through the other door.

: More thoughts later when I can view the videos, plus how I got through the
: room.

I haven't seen the videos yet; looking forward to them. I used the "plasma pistol pile" approach, collecting all of the plasma pistols from the previous hangar bay first thing, before that room cleans up. First, kill the grunts with grenades or the battle rifle (or whatever weapon), then, combine charged shots with a battle rifle burst on the elites. It works but takes quite a while.

As for getting to the catwalk, are you talking about the one you can get to by running through the doorway on the right side of the room and going up the stairs? You might get damaged while making the run, but you won't get killed. Then, there are some battle rifle rounds and two or three frag grenades there that you can pick up, and go right up to the upper floor. However, I didn't find this to be very useful. I mostly hung out behind the big green crate at the bay entrance.
