Re: Anti-target

In Response To: Re: Anti-target (KOPD)

: I think you should always lose a point for killing someone who isn't your
: target (unless you are their target). I guess it would be complicated. My
: intention is to to all the chaos. You don't know who's chasing who (or
: who's chasing you ), but if there was a penalty for killing randomly you
: would be afraid to kill somebody headed your direction unless you felt
: pretty sure they were after you . Makes people even more nervous. Hehe.

: Hope I've been vague enough.

That, I think, would be the only way to make KIO any fun. As it is, it turns into a FFA where you just don't get points for most of your kills. Actually, I've noticed that the ball-less Oddball games (Reverse Tag, Juggernaut) turn into the same thing. It is very frusturating when you're trying to find the invisible Juggernaut and random newbies keep shooting you.

On second thought, maybe it's a bad idea to take points away when you kill an non-objective target. Here's a better idea: increase the respawn time- five seconds per kill would work, although ten would really drive the point home. When you have to sit out a few minutes because you went trigger-happy and blasted everyone in sight, maybe you'll reconsider. Note that this applies to both KIO and Oddball (unless either is a team game).

Oh, there's an idea- team KIO. How would that work?
