In Response To: Your 2004 Halo Predictions (CobaltNova) : One of the great traditions in talk radio is the annual prediction show : hosted by Coast to Coast AM , which asks listeners to call in and give : their predictions on what will happen in the coming year. Well we'd like : to start the same tradition over at CobaltNova and catalogue 100 Halo : related predictions. Then at the end of 2004 we'll review them and see who : was prescient and who was simply suffering from delusional hysteria. : A few simple rules: : (1) They have to be Halo related. : (2) Dont be afraid to add some spice to your prediction. : (3) They have to be relatively specific (e.g. "More people will play : Halo," is what a 3rd grader would think of. "Halo 2 will be : released in 2004," is too general.) : A few simple ideas: : * What day will Halo 2 be released on? : * Will Halo 2 be released on time or delayed? : * Will anyone on the Bungie staff get married and who? : * Will Marty ODonnell leave Bungie to work in Hollywood? : * Who will win the "x" tournament? : * Will Halo 3 be announced? : * How many levels will Halo 2 have? : * Will Sony buy out Bungie? : * What is the most amount of money that will be awarded for a Halo : tournament? : * How many chapters will there be at Bungie.net at the end of 2004? : * Will the mod community introduce Pelicans into HPC multiplayer? 1) Halo 2 will be released in April, on the 16th. Such is why they call me Oracle. 2) Halo 2 will be released on time, because Bungie couldn't possibly want to release Halo 2 on any day other than my birthday. Such is why they call me Oracle. 3) Halo 2 will also be released on time because Bungie did not disappoint with Halo, and despite the fact that I am called Oracle, it is common sense to think Bungie would be perfect with thier predictions of Halo 2's release. such is why they call me Oracle. 4) Some idiot (and not a noob, but someone familiar with the inner workings of Halo) will kill a prophet while playing Halo 2 for the first time, and will get the CRAP kicked out of them by the Covenant. This idiot will likely be me. My passionate "gaming rage" will make me forget to pay attention to what I'm shooting at. WHOOPS! Such is why they call me Oracle. 5) I have the feeling that someone else will also pull the same stunt as I :) . Such is why they call me Oracle. 6) Stuntmutt will have an epiphany and create another great comic strip, which Louis Wu will gladly host, because he's a great guy. :) Such is why they call me Oracle. 7) Cortana will fall for Master Chief, if she hasn't already, and will destroy an entire Covenant Armada single handedly with a few quick lines of command, simply as an act of affection. Such is why they call me Oracle. 8) We will get to see a short movie, possibly as an "after you beat Legendary" movie, like Sarge duking it out with the elite with a strange need to feel up human men. This movie will be of MC picking his nose on a battlefield, and after he pulls out a good one (you know, the ones that go WAAAAAAY back into your skull and tickle as it peels out...), he will wipe it on an elite's finger. As MC walks away, a grunt will waddle up and look at the elite. When said grunt spots the booger on the elite's finger, he'll squeak, as grunts do, "you're sick!" Such is why they call me Oracle. 9) I might actually get tired of Halo... Heresy! But, when I do manage to get tired of mindlessly killing Covenant (who does?), I will put in James Bond: Agent Under Fire, and ten minutes later, I will learn to appreciate Halo for the incredible, wonderful, and just plain neat game it is, all over again. Unlike James Bond: Agent Under Fire, which lacks Halo's appeal, to say the least... Such is why they call me a fool... I mean, Oracle. 10) Mudvayne and Type O Negative will be on the Halo 2 soundtrack, as the really heavy songs that start playing when you're engaged with 30 covenant and you have next to nothing for cover between yourself and 400,000,000 degree Kelvin plasma. Maybe "Not falling" will be the great big song when you're defending a base against a huge covenant onslaught. And "Life is Killing Me", By Type O Negative, when you're knocking on a Prophet's door. Such is why they call me Oracle. 11) Bungie will have programmed several more new guns into Halo 2, and won't tell us about them, not even in the instruction manual. They'll hint at the new weapons, but leave it up to us to pick them up for ourselves. Such is why they call me Oracle. 12) Master Chief will get a tattoo, of his facemask with "Good things come to those that wait." and the MJOLNIR logo (if there is one). And he'll get another one directly under it that says "don't get greedy." and it will have a picture of the Legendary insignia. Such is why they call me Oracle. 13) Godzilla will make a cameo appearance in Halo 2, where he will be shown blowing Covenant dropships out of the air with his fiery breath. Such is why they call me Oracle. 14) Marty O'Donnell will become a super famous composer. So famous, in fact. that every household in the US will have some form of his music, much like Beehthoven. I've already got mine! Such is why the call me Oracle. ok, I'm done.
