(KwC) In this image,http://halo.bungie.org/screens5oct99/halo9.jpg and compare the pivoting flange on the end of the barral of the wepon is angled up, but the barrel is shorter than in this one: http://halo.bungie.org/screens5oct99/halo10.jpg you can see the Therefor, the barrel must contract into the weapon itself, like artilery does. kinda cool eh?
