: Maud'Dib's mother, Jessica, was a reverend mother, and took the water of life
: while pregnant with Alia. This caused Alia to have the memories of all her
: ancestors, giving her great knowledge and wisdom. Alia still lacked the
: prescient capabilities that Paul Maud'Dib had. When his twins were born (a
: boy and a girl) they both gained the memories of their ancestors and the
: prescient gifts. The son, Leto II, sacrificed his humanity, and combined
: with the sandworm to become the God Emperor (third book in the series).
: The sandworm "skin" make him very strong and he lived over 4000
: years.
: Leto reminds me more of the marine than Alia does, because he is more of a
: cyborg in the sense that he combined with other things to become more
: powerful.

Duncan Idaho reminds me more of the cyborg than anyone else in the Dune series. Leto, the God-Emperor, kept having clones of him reproduced in order to keep him do his bidding. Durandal = Leto, the God-Emperor????
