Hard to say (especially given Tycho's comparatively limited screentime in M1), but that last one would be very interesting to look into. Do the games actually hint at it, or did you give that example on your own?

Well, given that the Pfhor studied Tycho by yanking apart his core (without the AI equivalent to anesthetic), I...don't think Durandal would be the easiest guy to talk to, if he got abducted by or went with the Pfhor instead.

(Reminds me of how the back of the Mac Action Sack box claims that in M2, you're going to "settle the score with your nemesis from the first [game], Durandal". No idea where that came from--the earliest plot notes we have on M2 indicate that we were always on Durandal's side--unless it was to avoid spoilers)

As for Tycho calling over the ship--well, he -is- a science officer, so perhaps he signaled the Pfhor in good faith and learned the hard way that they're hostile. At first he's just trying to fight them off, but as he gets more opportunities to study their vessel, the wheels start turning, so to speak...

And Durandal's all "HA! You really believe that Tycho didn't know what he was doing when he hailed that ship? Ow, my most-of-me." (Because EMP bombs)
