Maybe those are the clones of Tycho while the real intact but damaged one remains on the Marathon. Whether the Marathon was destroyed or not, I do not know as the games do not tell you.

I was replaying M1 with the classic Magnadoodle HUD and HD textures off just now and when reading his Blaspheme Quarantine terminal, I realised this may be the case: "They have created an adversary more powerful than yourself".

It sounds more like a warning than a threat. A warning of the countless clones of Tycho with an Angry Durandal template, hence being stuck in pubescent "13" for the rest of the trilogy.

The Low Flying Tycho could have been the real one in the Angry stage while the Tycho later on may have been one of the early clones going rampant on Try Again.

He wants Durandal to pay for the BOBs and colonists deaths in Defence Drones, but he seems to never have cared or at least forgotten about it in Try Again while still being angry at him.
