Not sure I follow this. Durandal's mechanism for escape was obtaining the Pfhor ship and he needed you to help him get it. He had already broken free of whatever hold Strauss had on him when the Pfhor attacked the colony ship.

So his reason for helping the S'pht reanimate Tycho is still not clear (to me anyway).

Also consider this. Why would Durandal help the S'pht, if according to Tycho they were his adversary? And by helping in the reanimation of Tycho, he creates yet another adversary.

Don't you just love these little mind puzzles from Greg. :-)
