	In Response To: mysterious start-location (Soapstone) : This reminds me of a mystery regarding your starting location on Arrival. The : manual prologue says that you maneuver the Mirata 's Maneuvering Pod into : an empty docking bay on the Marathon. On Arrival, there is a docking bay : with a conspicuous object in it. Supposedly this object is your : Maneuvering Pod. There is only one door to this room (aside from the one : wall open to space). So why do you start the game in that dead-end : hallway, instead of just outside the door to the docking bay? I had a theory about this some time ago: at the end of Pathways the player enters a large, dark corridor. The door behind the player's starting location in Marathon is the door at the end of this dark corridor. For me, that was the way Bungie tied both games. I mail this theory to Hamish and he replied the player teleports from the pod to that location because opening the hangar's door would had exposed the entire level to vacuum as Hanger 7A is open to space. This makes sense. Behind that door I mentioned early there's a little room that can act as a teleporter. But 1) Teleporters on M1 doesn't have doors 2) This room doesn't have the default metallic texture seen on the rest of the teleporters in the game (I checked it with Pfhorte) REB
