It seems you think marathon is only for net play. All the features that are developed for lua and such are meant to give options to the creators of all maps not just net maps. The real tragedy is that there is not a map editor designed for A1.
You should not lash out at the builders of A1, but praise them for working on it at all. I'm sure most of the people who have developed anything for marathon could have done something more worth while in their spare time. We are more then lucky it has been so alive for so long.
