Burning in the light of the moon

Just jumping in to the tail end of this thread:
The level is currently set to Repair, with both wires being Repair switches. The only thing that changes, terminal wise, when the wires are both smashes is that all the other terminals change to tell you you need to find the exit terminal. The exit terminal(s) are both controlled by lights with 3 minute, 14 second activation period, one of whose "active" state is dark, the other which is light, and vice versa their inactive states. The "success" terminal is initially lit up by it's bright "inactive" state, and the "failure" terminal is likewise dark. When you hit the first switch, both enter their long "becoming active", which is identical to their "inactive". When the 3:14 is up, the lights both become "active", and the "success" terminal is darkened, while the "failure" is lit up.
The solution that's been suggested which sounds best is the Enforcer-firing-at-Tick trick.
