You know, I kinda doubt halo goes case by case to decide what meets its criteria. Its probably more of a pulse of some sort of energy that interferes with whatever brainwaves or neural waves the flood tap into. Although this doesn't make sense, seing how the ring doesn't kill the flood itself.

Hmm we need some sort of theory on how halo actually works. Why would it kill a creature, but then suddenly not kill it once a flood is controling it?

Of course, we don't understand forrunner technology, so there really is no way to speculate as to how it works.

So in short, disregard this post. Or speculate if you want to. That would make me happy. Yes. Speculate.
