In Response To: Re: Halo - a look back over seven years (gspawn) Phew, that was a lot of stories. Wow, it still amazes me. The first time I played Halo... Was the January after it came out. My uncle had just gotten an Xbox for Christmas and when I walked in, he was playing on Silent Cartographer with his daughter(my cousin). He handed me his controller and the first thing he taught me was how to drive the Warthog. The very first head on collision with my cousin had me hooked, I was so amazed at how the Warthog handled and how it flew end over end. I played as much as I could whenever I went to his house. In school(I was 13 and in seventh grade) a few months later I heard some classmates talking about Halo. And I immediately joined in. After a few weeks, we started playing together at one of their house's and we couldn't stop. I couldn't afford my own Xbox, so I didn't have as much time with Halo as I wanted. So I got owned terribly. Then in January of '03 I finally got my own(my birthday is on Christmas so I had saved my money.) I soon as I got it, I picked up Halo and began playing alone and lanning so much that I became better than those friends who once owned me and to this day, the barely even want to play Halo:CE with me because I am too good at it they say. So we stick to Halo 3 for their sakes. Halo has given me so much, four out of my five best friends. Lots of laughs. Tons of fun. I have witnessed great creativity, friends, an amazing community and best of all, happiness. I love Bungie, Halo in all of its form and the great communities all around, especially here at HBO.
