In Response To: Halo - a look back over seven years (Louis Wu) It defies explanation how a video game has laid the foundation for so many meaningful interactions in my life. There is no one thing I can say about Halo. Halo is my parlor. It is a place where I can host parties. Friends assemble to hold palaver with one another as much as they do to play the game. Every bout is a chance to meet new and interesting people. Halo is my theatre. It is the catalyst for my creative outlet. The players of this game are an audience unto each other. Our love for the game makes us interested in each other. And the way we all express that passion has made the game itself more interesting. Halo is my thunderdome. It is an arena in which my competitive spirit can run wild. It's more exciting than Poker, and not as muddy as Paintball. Halo is my social network. It literally brings the world together. I have friends in Holland, Mexico, Canada, and almost all of the 50 states; all because I shot them in the head.
