See my response to Anton P. Nym regarding how you can use features of the Ark to determine an approximate size of Halo by comparison.

There should be enough screenshots to show you the Halo rising from the Ark's foundry. It's not too far from the Chief's and Arbiter's position at the base of the Citadel. The height of what we see emerging from the foundry is about 200 miles tall (Halo's width essentially). Compared to the Chief (and keeping in mind the sheer scale of the Ark) it's good enough to ballpark the size of Halo. In the image in my original post, I left a margin of error the size of a Halo. Isn't that enough?? :)

I hope to one day make a more definitive calculation without having to resort to this compared to that. I like to be more exact...but then, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist. :)
